I’ve Never Rented a Dumpster Before, What Do I Need to Know?
First time renting a dumpster? We’re here to help! Our team aims to make your experience as simple as possible.
When shopping for a dumpster service, ensure the price you are quoted includes disposal fees, a set time frame for the rental, and any surcharges. First State Waste Offers flat rate pricing including all charges.
Disposal of your material is based on weight in the measurement of tons (One ton is equivalent to 2000 pounds), the heavier the material is that you put in the dumpster, the more expensive it will be to dispose of. Our pricing includes a set weight allowance, if the material exceeds that allowance there will be additional costs. Our weight allowances are based on the average weight we see in our dumpsters. When we enter a disposal facility, our trucks are weighed on the way in, and again on the way out after dumping the dumpster so we know exactly how much material was in each dumpster.
What Size Dumpster Do I Need?
The right size dumpster depends on the extent of your project and material. We offer two sizes of dumpsters to fit any size project!
For smaller projects like single room clean-outs or bathroom renovations, we recommend a 15 yard dumpster. The 15 yard dumpsters are also used for concrete, dirt or asphalt removal.
For larger projects like multiple room clean-outs, shed demolitions, and large renovations, a 30 yard dumpster is recommended.
How Long Can I Keep My Dumpster?
Our rentals include 10 days with the dumpster. If you need additional time, we are happy to extend your rental, let us know! There will be additional rental charges after the 10 day period.
What Time Will My Dumpster Arrive?
If you are starting your project early, we recommend you schedule the dumpster to be delivered the day before you are planning to start your project. You will receive a text message when our team is on the way to deliver the dumpster.
Once you receive the text message that our team is on the way, please make sure the delivery area is clear and ready for us! This includes things like moving any vehicles that might be in the way.
Do I Need to Be There for Delivery?
You do not need to be home for your delivery! When you schedule your delivery, we will ask for exact instructions on where you want the dumpster placed on your site. You will receive a text message when our team is on the way to deliver the dumpster.
How Do I Fill The Dumpster?
When filling the dumpster any material must be lower than the height of the sides of the dumpster. We cannot safely transport the dumpster if material is taller the the sides of it.
Please be sure to close and latch the rear dumpster door when you are finished filling it.
Finally, make sure you understand what materials can and cannot be loaded into the dumpster or mixed together so there are no additional charges or issues at pickup.
What If I Finish with the Dumpster Early?
If you finish with your dumpster before the end of the rental period, call our team to schedule the dumpster for pickup.
